I have spoken to many of you in the last few days who are horrified that educators, both teachers and other educational employees, are being villified by the newest commercial on TV. You know the one.....the one that says if Proposal 2 passes the unions will bargain to have felons working with kids! You know as well as I do, that isn't going to happen. These ads are outright lies.
While the MEA and other organizations are working to get the networks to pull these low level, outrageous lies from the airwaves, there is a brand new commercial that will be aired that is funded by "Protect Working Families". It features law enforcement officers that address the lies being told by the anti-proposal 2 campaign.

- I wrote this introduction 6 years ago, and it is even more important today than ever. The voices of educational employees need to be heard above the roar of public school attacks in this country. We are on the front line; we are highly educated and trained professionals. Why are we being ignored? I am an educator. I was the president of the Walled Lake Education Association for over 6 years, and before that, the treasurer for 8 years. I have been on the bargaining team for 15 years. I am now the MEA UniServ Director for 7K and parts of IJ. I want our voice to be heard!
